Fear From Past
A downloadable game for Windows
Fair from Past — a pixelated psychological horror
Step into the world between lives. You awaken in a sub-reality — a liminal system of passage, where something went wrong. Your journey is not simple escape: it is a slow, irreversible descent through seven layers, each distorting reality in its own way.
Core Idea
The game combines procedural room generation with heavy atmosphere: here, fear comes not from monsters, but from the constant sense that the world is "wrong." Health is only a temporary buffer. Sanity drains forever; once it reaches zero, a judgment room awaits — sending you into the endless void.
Features
- Procedurally generated rooms — each with subtle details and fragments of hidden lore.
- Seven layers, each with its own aesthetics, mechanics, and unique enemies.
- Dual survival system: physical health and the irreversible resource — sanity.
- Atmospheric sound design — constant hums and rare disturbing audio events breaking the sense of safety.
- Psychological enemies: fast hunters, invisible threats, painting-impostors, and other mechanics that break trust in the environment.
- Minimalistic lore, revealed through objects, notes, and memory fragments.
Gameplay
Explore corridors and rooms, collect items (keys, notes, flashlight, painkillers, etc.), avoid or distract enemies, and try to preserve your sanity. Every ~100 rooms the world begins to change — thick fog, phantom floors, or other phenomena draw you into the next layer.
Aesthetics & Sound
Pixel art visuals mixed with soft lighting and subtle "glitch" effects create the feeling of distorted memory. The soundscape leans on low-frequency hums, rare anomalous noises, and distant muffled voices — all building tension without cheap jumpscares.
Why You Should Play
- If you enjoy psychological horror where fear is built on atmosphere and meaning, not loud noises.
- If you value exploration and uncovering fragmented lore through the environment.
- If you want an experience with irreversible consequences — where every decision matters.

Notes
This is an experimental project focused on atmosphere and narrative. Sanity is an irreversible mechanic: it cannot be restored. This is a deliberate design choice to create tension and weight in every action.
